NaNoWriMoNerves
NaNoWriMo is coming! T-minus 4 days and counting. I am pretty nervous, especially since I have already been falling behind on my manuscript as it is. I am not even through the end of Act 1, which is where I should be at this point. In my defense, I have been recovering from a wicked cold, work has been slammed busy, and I had a minor catharsis (yeah, I know) and have decided to switch my perspective to first person after all. I originally started writing in third person limited, but I really think my character's voice deserves to be the one telling the story, rather than an external narrator. Maybe I am just taking too much of a cue from Diana Gabaldon and Margaret Atwood. I guess I feel more strongly about the first person perspective than I had originally thought. I originally intended to keep my options open in future books by creating third person limited perspective characters, but now I think it might be a stronger story from first person.
