This post doesn't actually have to do with Merlin's beard, but I have the phrase stuck in my head from re-watching a bunch of Harry Potter movies. This post is actually a recap of NaNoWriMo Day 1. I began writing promptly at midnight to try and get a bit of buffer in for the first day. I'm already part way through Act 1, and I currently have a clear picture of what I am supposed to be writing, so I managed 2,468 words in the first twenty-four hours. It lands me a pretty decent buffer, and I hope I can sustain good numbers like this.
I am now approximately 75% of the way through Act 1. I had expected to be writing Act 2 by now, but I can't beat myself up too much. October was an exceedingly busy month punctuated by my sister's wedding, a horrible cold that lasted three weeks, a bizarre power outage at my job and the end of my firm's fiscal year.
